Lot of Two (2) .22 Caliber Rifles, by Savage & Wards Westernfield: 1.) Savage Model 1911 Single Shot Bolt Action Rifle, NVSN, .22 Short cal., 20'' barrel, blue finish, one-piece straight grip walnut stock, steel ''Savage Quality'' buttplate, dovetailed blade front sight and notched rear sight with elevator. A limited quantity of these rifles were mfg'd ca. 1911-1912. Metal rates as good with a combination toning blue finish and brown patina showing specks of moderate oxidation; factory lettering is clear. Stock is cracked at the forend as well as the wrist; wrist has been repaired with adhesive and a wood screw. Wood is otherwise in pretty nice shape with only light handling marks. Good action; clean bright bore. 2.) Wards Westernfield Model 36D Bolt Action Rifle, NVSN, .22 S-L-LR cal., 24'' barrel, blue finish, one-piece pistol-grip hardwood stock, black plastic buttplate, dovetailed blade front sight and adjustable Mossberg 2A rear sight. Metal rates as fair with a toning blue finish and specks of light surface rust overall. Stock is very good showing moderate handling wear. Good action; bore with a few spots of erosion and is otherwise clean with good rifling. Est.: $150-$250. (Both/C&R)
