Antique Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver, #158005, .31 cal., 6'' octagonal barrel with brass pin front (and hammer-notch rear) sights, marked with the two-line Colt name and address; 5-shot round cylinder carries the ''stagecoach hold-up'' rolled scene; frame is marked ''Colts/Patent'' on left side; brass gripstraps have an ''M'' on left bolster of the large rounded triggerguard; varnished one-piece walnut grips. Mfg'd 1858. Condition is very good. Barrel shows traces of blue with light scattered discoloration (mostly confined to right side), cylinder with a clear scene and no original blue, frame silvered with 35% case colors, trigger with darkened blue, brass gripstraps with traces of silver plate. Grips are solid showing light use marks and 70% original varnish finish. Markings and edges are sharp; domed screw head slots are mostly unblemished; all visible serial numbers match including lever (could not remove wedge, but it appears original). Action is smooth and sure; bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. Est.: $450-$750. (Antique)
