Lot 875 Early Winchester Model 1912 Slide-Action Shotgun

Early Winchester Model 1912 Slide-Action Shotgun, #102800, 16 ga., 26'' plain barrel with silver bead front sight, 2-3/4'' chamber, barrel is marked full but reads IM on choke gauge; pistol-grip walnut stock and 14-groove forend with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Top of barrel and receiver are both Winchester proofed; nickel steel barrel with early ''Model 1912'' markings. Mfg'd 1915. Condition is very good, barrel and mag tube retain approx. 70% toning original blue; receiver approx. 15%, balance is gun metal gray. Barrel address and other factory lettering is clear. Forend shows light handling marks and is nice for its age; buttstock with scattered pressure dents and scratches, most are shallow with one that is a little deeper near the left side upper edge. Buttplate shows age and wear consistent with the rest of the shotgun, no chips or cracks. Action is crisp and functions properly; very good bore shows moderate wear. Est.: $250-$400. (C&R)
