Antique European Snider Action Forager Shotgun, perhaps altered from a military musket, NVSN, 12 ga., 33'' thin-wall barrel with bead front sight and proofmarks at breech is marked ''Nana'' on top; hinged Snider ''trapdoor'' with matching proofmarks and a rebounding firing pin; plain steel lockplate, hammer, trigger, single spring-retained barrel band and buttplate, military style two-piece triggerguard with elongated rear tang; oil-finished one-piece European hardwood halfstock. Condition is about good, the metal parts showing a deep brown patina, the triggerguard with overall heavy pitting. Stock is sound and smooth and a possible replacement, showing a filled-in ramrod channel and what appears to be a plug in the right-side butt. Action is crisp; bore is clean. Est.: $200-$300.
