Winchester Model 1904 Single Shot Bolt Action Boy's or Varmint Rifle, NVSN, .22 S/L/LR RF cal., 21'' barrel, with dovetailed bead-blade front and notched-leaf rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1899 patent date, ''Model 1904 - 22 Short/Long or Extra Long'' and ''Winchester/Trade Mark Reg. in U.S. Pat. Off.'' on left side; action has auto extraction and knurled bolt knob; hardwood Schnabel tip ''fish-belly'' halfstock has a scrolled triggerguard, a large knurled screw retaining action in the stock, and steel crescent buttplate. Condition is good. Metal surfaces show a generally smooth gunmetal gray-brown patina, with traces of blue and clear markings. Stock is sound and smooth with light use marks and much varnish finish.
