^Lot 751 Antique Winchester M1894 Saddle Ring Carbine

Antique Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, #63933, .38-55 CF cal., blued 20'' round barrel, with block-blade front and dovetailed buckhorn rear sights, marked with maker's name and address on top, and ''38-55'' at breech; blued tubular magazine and retaining band; blued receiver is marked ''Model 1894/Winchester/Pat. Aug. 21, 1894'' on upper tang, serial number at lower front, and has a saddle stud and ring mounted to its left side; loop operating lever; oil-finished walnut forearm with blued barrel band, matching buttstock with steel carbine buttplate. Mfg'd 1896. Condition is very good. Metal surfaces show no original finish but a smooth gunmetal gray-to-brown patina. Stocks are sound with normal age and use marks, have been sanded and with occasional filler, carved initials on both sides of buttstock, and a later coat of linseed oil. All markings are clear. Action is strong and smooth; bore is clean with shallow erosion and faint rifling. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)
