Winchester Model 55 Takedown Lever Action Rifle, #10249, .30 WCF (.30-30) cal., blued 24'' round barrel, with high blade front and dovetailed buckhorn rear sights, marked with maker's name and address at right breech, and ''Model 55/Winchester Trade Mark/Nickel Steel - 30 W.C.F.'' at left; blued tubular half-magazine; blued receiver is marked ''Winchester/Trade Mark/Made In U.S.A.'' on upper tang, and serial number at lower front; loop operating lever; oil-finished walnut forearm with blued nose cap, matching buttstock with checkered steel carbine buttplate. Mfg'd ca. 1929. Condition is very good. Barrel and mag tube retain approx. 40% original blue; receiver, lever and buttplate are clean gunmetal gray. Stocks are sound and smooth with perhaps a thin later coat of varnish. Edges and markings are sharp. Action is strong and smooth; bore is brilliant with deep rifling. Est.: $600-$850. (C&R)
