Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle, #225788, .25-20 WCF cal., blued 24'' barrel, with dovetailed long-blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1884 patent date on top, and ''25-20 W.C.F.'' at breech; blued receiver is marked ''Model 1892'', ''Winchester'' and trademark on upper tang, and ''225788'' at lower front; oil-finished walnut forend with steel nosecap, and matching buttstock with crescent buttplate. Mfg'd 1903. Condition is very good. Barrel retains approx. 85% blue (missing areas at muzzle and front sight), magazine tube with 70% thinning blue, receiver is a bluish-brown tone (with an area of erosion and 50% blue on right side). Stocks are sound with normal use/handling marks and a later coat of varnish. Front sight is a replacement; front top tang screw is missing. Action is smooth; bore shines with crisp rifling.
