Spanish ''Tigre'' Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, styled after the Winchester Model 1892, #19156, .44 cal., blued 20'' barrel, with dovetailed blade front and adjustable sliding-leaf rear sights marked with the maker's name and Eibar (Spain) address, ''Cal .44L'' and associated proofmarks ahead of breech; blued full-length tubular magazine is retained by a blued steel band; blued steel receiver with left-side saddle ring and stud is marked with a tigre (tiger) logo on left side, and ''Marca Registrada/Tigre/Modelo Patentado'' on top tang; case hardened loop operating lever, hammer and trigger; varnished walnut forend has a steel band with sling swivel, matching buttstock with blued buttplate and sling swivel below. Mfg'd ca. 1920s. Condition is very good: the barrel retains approx. 90% blue, the mag tube 50%, the receiver and buttplate with 70% blue, all with scrapes and dings from age and use; the lever, hammer and trigger show lovely mottled case colors. Stocks retain most varnish with scattered handling/use marks, and nice grain and color. Action is smooth and sure; bore is brilliant with defined rifling. Est.: $200-$400. (C&R)
