Custom Heavy Barrel Single Shot Bolt Action Target Rifle on Mauser 98 Action, #3548i, .22 Donaldson Wasp cal., 24'' heavy barrel that is only marked ''219 W''. Metal with a polished blue finish, bright bolt with jeweled body. Receiver with original military markings. Birdseye maple pistol-grip target stock with a Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, 2'' wide flat bottom forend, ebony forend and grip cap, with black rubber Pachmayr recoil pad; LOP is 13-3/8''. Current configuration is left hand cheekpiece with a right hand bolt. The original floorplate and triggerguard were used, some of the screws are replacements; trigger is adjustable. Redfield 16x40mm target scope is mounted to scope blocks on the receiver ring and rear potion of the barrel; scope measures 23.25'' overall with a fine crosshair with tiny target dot reticle, 1'' tube, and blue finish; black objective bell. This rifle is in excellent overall condition retaining approx. 97%-98% reblued finish; some of the original maker's marks, proofmarks, etc. are a little light. Nicely figured birdseye maple stock with only a few very minor handling marks. Smooth action, bright bore with excellent rifling. Scope retains most of its finish, exterior with scattered small scratches; optics are just a little cloudy around the edges and are otherwise clear, no visible chips or damage to the lens.
