Deluxe Engraved Model 1873 Style Lever Action Rifle, by Navy Arms, #23900, .44-40 CF cal., blued 24'' octagonal barrel, with dovetailed blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights, marked with maker's name and address on top flat, ''Mod. 73 Sporting Rifle Cal. 44-40'' on right angled flat, Italian proofmarks on left, and ''One of One Thousand'' amid floral scrolls at breech; coin-finished receiver is fully floral scroll engraved with two circular panel scenes: a standing elk on left side, and a leaping cat on right; blued and engraved loop operating lever, hammer, nosecap and buttplate; satin varnished deluxe walnut forearm and buttstock. Engraver-signed ''Inc. C. Orizio'' on left side of receiver. Condition is excellent, near new and unfired. Barrel, mag tube and other blued parts retain approx. 99% of their deep, dark and lustrous finish (slightly plum-colored on buttplate), receiver finish is flawless; crisp engraving and markings overall. Stocks with all of their original varnish finish, lovely color and only minor handling marks. Action is tight and crisp; bore is brilliant with full interior blue and defined rifling.
