Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, #221009, .30 WCF (.30-30 CF) cal., blued 26'' octagonal barrel, with dovetailed bead-blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1894 patent date on top flat, and ''30 W.C.F.'' at breech; blued full-length tubular magazine; blued receiver is marked ''221009'' at bottom front edge, and fitted with a screw-elevating upper tang peep sight; case hardened loop operating lever and hammer; varnished walnut forearm with blued nosecap, and matching buttstock with crescent rifle buttplate. Mfg'd 1901. Condition is excellent. Barrel, mag tube and receiver retain approx. 98% smooth deep original blue, lever and hammer show subdued but lovely case colors, buttplate is gunmetal gray. Stocks are sound and smooth with very light use/handling marks, a 3/4'' compass inlet at the right butt, a later coat of thin varnish, and nice grain and color. Action is smooth and crisp; bore is bright with sharp rifling. Simply an exceptional ''94.'' Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R)
