Winchester Model 1895 Takedown Lever Action Sporting Rifle, #75504, .30-06 cal., blued 24'' tapered round barrel, with raised bead-blade and adjustable open rear sights, marked ''Nickel Steel Barrel/Especially for Smokeless Powder'' and ''30 U.S. Mod. 1906.'' on left side ahead of breech; blued takedown receiver is marked with maker's name, address and seven 1895-1907 patent dates on left side, ''Model 1895/Winchester'' and trademark on upper tang, and ''75504B'' on lower; blued box magazine, loop operating lever, hammer and trigger; oil-finished walnut forend with Schnabel tip having a horn (or ebony) inlay, and matching buttstock with blued crescent rifle buttplate. Mfg'd ca. 1915. Condition is fine+. Barrel retains approx. 95% military style blue, receiver is a mostly brown patina with much blue in protected areas, lever and other blued parts with approx. 75% original blue, buttplate a gunmetal gray. Stocks are sound and smooth retaining approx. 85% oil finish and light handling/use marks. Action is strong and smooth; bore is bright with sharply defined rifling. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R)
