Antique Bacon Single Shot Bar Hammer Double Action Percussion Pocket Pistol, #68 (or #89), .31 cal., 2'' octagon-to-round barrel marked ''Bacon & Co./Norwich CT/Cast Steel'' on left two flats, lightly floral engraved frame and backstrap, walnut bag grips. Condition is good showing no original finish, worn engraving and light pitting to steel (mostly to left side), missing triggerguard. Grips are smooth and undamaged. Action functions; bore appears clean. A quite rare and collectible American pocket pistol in this small frame size and with its short 2'' barrel, of which only about 100 were made in the 1850s.
