Lot 760 Remington Model 14 Slide Action Rifle
Remington Model 14 Slide Action Rifle, chambered in rare .25 Rem. caliber, #21432C, 22'' round barrel, blue finish, smooth pistol-grip walnut stock and grooved forend, checkered metal Remington-UMC buttplate, dovetailed front sight with brass bead and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Barrel with the correct earlier type ''Nov. 19, 12'' address; cartridge case caliber indicator on the left side is early ''UMC'' type that sits flush with the frame. Mfg'd circa 1914. Condition overall is good. Metal is lightly pitted with a little bit of toning blue finish remaining on the barrel, the balance a combination gray-brown patina; factory lettering is legible. Wood shows age and wear consistent with the overall condition of the rest of the rifle. Buttstock shows darkening along the top edge and wrist; wrist with a moderate chip at the top edge and cracking from age but remains solid; left side of the forend with a piece missing around the retaining screw. Good action; bore with a few small pits and in nice shape for its age, rifling is excellent. Est.: $200-$350. (C&R)
