Second Generation Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver, in original wood case complete with accessories, #3127REL, .36 cal., blued 7.5'' octagonal barrel is marked on top flat ''Address Saml Colt New-York City'' flanked by dashes, and ''Robert E. Lee Commemorative - Nineteen Seventy One'' on left flat; blued round 6-shot cylinder is roll-engraved with the standard naval battle scene, case hardened hammer, lever and plunger; silver-plated brass backstrap and rounded triggerguard; one-piece varnished walnut grips. Condition is mint and unfired, retaining 100% original blued finish, brilliant case colors, silver with a soft patina, and perfect grips with all of their original vanish finish. Action is crisp; bore shows brilliant blue with deep rifling. Mahogany case retains its soft oil-stained finish (a few dings along back side) with a brass ''Colt'' logo medallion inlay, and is marked on top lid ''Robert E. Lee Commemorative/Nineteen Seventy One''. Now almost a half-century old, these first Colt commemoratives are scarce; in this pristine state, they are almost impossible to find. Est.: $400-$600.
