Stevens Heavy Frame ''Hunter's Pet'' Spurtrigger No. 34 Pocket Rifle, #4545, .30 CF cal., 18'' blued octagonal barrel is marked on left angled flat above barrel hinge ''J. Stevens A&T Co./Chicopee Falls, Mass. USA Pat. Sept. 6, 1864'' in two lines, with dovetailed Beach front sight and dovetailed adjustable single-leaf rear sight; nickel-plated frame with integral grip straps, two-piece varnished walnut grips, and matching nickel-plated detachable skeleton-type shoulder stock. Mfg'd 1872-1900. Condition is near excellent, the barrel retaining approx. 80% original blue darkening and thinning toward breech; the frame, grip straps and skeleton stock retaining approx. 99% original nickel; and the grips with minor nicks and 95% original varnish. Action is smooth and sure; bore is shiny with deep rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (C&R)
