^Lot 276 Fantastic Sharps Slant Breech Rifle

Very scarce rifle built in Hartford, CT in the 1854, where it is estimated that somewhere between only 1000 and 2000 rifles were made in custom ordered variations. Chambered in 60 caliber, with 28" round barrel, with great original long range tang sight, and brass patch box. Metal shows a beautifully patinaed plumb finish with original blue showing through, rich medium colored nicely fitting wood, with tiny chip at toe, and very nice tightly functioning action.
