German Kar98k Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #3609T, 8x57mm cal., 23.6'' barrel, blued finish, laminated stock, cleaning rod, inverted ''V'' front sight with adjustable tangent rear sight. Marked on receiver ring ''147'' (code of the Suhl & Sohn Co.) over ''1940''. Left side of receiver rail marked ''MOD 98''. Intact eagle/swastika stamps on left side of barrel and chamber. Two ''(eagle)/37'' stamps on barrel and chamber, along with ''(eagle)/359'' right side of chamber. ''(Eagle)/359'' on right side of barrel below rear sight. Right side of buttstock marked ''H/(swastika)/(eagle) WaA 37/(eagle)/(swastika) WaA 37''. Rifle has a front sight without slots for sight hood, ''H'' front band, stamped magazine floorplate, and flat buttplate. Matching numbers. Condition overall is very good with approx. 75% finish remaining on metal surfaces, with thinning and browning on the forward part of the chamber, front sight and front band, floorplate, and buttplate. Wood is very good with a nice even color showing a couple of very small closed cracks and a few old dents to the handguard, scratches to the forend, and overall light handling marks. Action is smooth, bright bore is very good with some wear to the rifling. Includes a German army sling stamped ''L&F'' on the buckle and a steel muzzle cover stamped ''m'', both in very good condition. No visible import stamps.
