Antique Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army Cartridge Revolver, #136290, .45 Colt CF cal., 5.5'' barrel without top address line is marked ''Colt Single Action Army .45'' on left side, left frame with two-line 1871-75 patent dates ahead of encircled ''Rampant Colt'' logo; original black powder frame, original blue and case hardened finishes, steel grip straps with two-piece stag grips. All visible serial numbers match; loading gate correctly marked ''242''. Mfg'd 1891. Condition is excellent as refinished, retaining approx. 95% dark Colt-type blue to barrel, cylinder and grip straps; blued hammer with sides polished bright; blued trigger; nicely mottled case hardening to frame. Grips are very good, fit somewhat oversize and show marks of hand-fitting; written inside the left grip is ''Dad / James A. Lane''; inside right grip is ''From Willa Lane to / Lowery W. Lane in / Remembrance of Your / Father James A. Lane 1917.'' Action is crisp and tight; bore is bright with clean rifling. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)
