Custom made American Sporting Rifle attributed to LeFever of New York for Dr. Fred C. Cairns of Johnsonville, New York. This .257 Roberts caliber rifle is mentioned in 1952 article about the Doctor’s collection and making the ID to LeFever. Note: the previous lot is nearly identical in stocking and the same maker in our opinion. This rifle shows a 22” commercial barrel and Mauser military action dated 1938. Polished and turned action. Nicely checkered burl walnut stock with large and high cheekpiece. Mounted with adjustable receiver sight. Very good plus condition and should clean to almost fine as stored for decades.
