Colt Model 2A Root revolver in .28 caliber percussion, finely Gustave Young style engraved with original ivory grips and in original case with accessories, S/N 25233. All matching numbers. This Root shows fine and tight period scroll engraving and approximately 30%-50% blue turning patina on crisp metal surfaces. The grips are nicely aged and toned with age cracking at the bottom. The action works well. Good flask, mold and cap tin included. The box is good to very good with some fading and normal aging. A very authentic and pleasing engraved Root.
