Model 1893 Turkish Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, converted in 1935, #17090, 8mm Mauser cal., 29'' barrel, no finish, hardwood stock, inverted ''V'' front sight, ''V''-notched tangent rear sight, with cleaning rod. Magazine cutoff was completely removed during conversion and is covered by the new stock. Receiver ring with ''TC (star/moon)'', ''ASFA / Ankara'' markings and dated ''1935''. Left side with Arabic writing. No import marks. Rear sight and receiver with matching numbers; bolt appears to be re-numbered to match. Condition is good. Metal is mostly a silvery gray with some areas of darker spotting with some scattered oxidation, the highest concentration being on the buttplate. Wood has been sanded with general dings and mars; handguard is cracked behind the rear sight; left side at the wrist with a moderate chip. Receiver ring markings are clear. Good action and bore; bore is dark with nice rifling. Est.: $125-$225. (Antique)
