Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, #914856, .30 WCF cal., 26'' nickel steel octagon barrel, blue finish, straight grip walnut stock, crescent steel buttplate, dovetailed front sight, rear sight has been removed, with tang-mounted Lyman peep sight with locking mechanism; top of sight is marked ''LYMAN / MIDDLEFIELD / CONN. U.S.A.'' Barrel with two-line ''August 21, 1894'' patent date address and is additionally marked in between the rear sight dovetail and receiver ''NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER'' - ''30 W.C.F.'' Mfg'd 1922. Condition is good overall. Metal surfaces with a combination silvery gray metal and brown patina; barrel with trace amounts of blue finish in some of the protected areas. Factory lettering is clear. Buttstock fits nicely at the adjoining metal surfaces; overall the wood shows age and wear consistent with the rest of the rifle, including scattered scratches and impressions; wrist with a 1'' hairline crack to the left side. Action is crisp. Bore rates as near excellent and looks good for its age. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R)
