USMC Model 1905 Colt Double Action Revolver, #553, .38 Colt cal., 6'' barrel, high polish blue finish, factory checkered large diamond walnut grips, with lanyard loop in butt. Butt marked ''U.S.M.C./No. 553''; assembly number ''62'' to small parts. Mfg'd between 1905-1909 with only 926 produced. These grips are unique to the Marine Corps variant. Condition is near fine retaining approx. 75%-80% original high polish blue showing even wear. Grips with just minor flattening. Nice crisp action, bore is bright. Est.: $1,500-$2,500. (C&R)
