U.S. Colored Troops drum; approximately 15” diameter, 16” high, ca. 1865 or later; head of wood and rope drum is painted as follows: “39th Maryland Vols/Spottsylvania/Co Landing/Petersburg/FederalPoint/Wilderness/Weldon RR”; regiment was officially designated the 39th U.S. Colored Troops and was raised in Baltimore, MD; in addition to battle honors listed on head of drum, the 39th was at the Crater andparticipated in 1865 North Carolina operations. Light wear, nice patina, very good to near fine condition for age. Est.: $750-$1,500+.
