Lot 231a Antique Percussion Rifle .45 Cal NVSN

Antique boy size percussion rifle with an approximate .45 caliber bore. Features a 24" octagonal barrel, dovetailed copper blade front sight, fixed rear sight, double set triggers, unsigned lock, wood ram rod, brass furniture and a straight grip shoulder stock heavy adorned with metal inlays in the shape of diamonds, birds, daggers, hearts and more. Includes a document from a former owner stating "The black powder boys size rifle was purchased by my great grandfather Joseph John LeMoine (1852-1930) from someone who had it made for his son, but after a disagreement with the son sold it to my great grandfather. My grandfather William John LeMoine (1882-1968) hunted with it as a boy." The rifle retains little remaining finish with the majority of the metal surfaces displaying a smooth grey patina. Action is non-working, the bore is good and the wood stock is fair with scattered cracks & losses. Condition is NRA Good. ***Antique Firearm***
