Lot 727a Vintage San Ildefonso Blackware Bowl

This Vintage San Ildefonso Blackware Bowl by Blue Corn, is museum quality pottery for any collector! Hand built & stone polished, it displays a high shine & matte finish to reveal the traditional pattern. It's 4-1/4" tall & 8-1/2" wide, circa 1960's & there are no chips or cracks. In very good condition, the base is signed, this was offered at auction by the Heard Museum in Phoenix. This Vintage San Ildefonso Blackware Bowl is an opportunity to own, a one of a kind piece of pueblo history! Blue Corn (1920-1999) aka Crucita Gonzales Calabaza. Her pieces can be found in the Smithsonian and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, as well as, private collections. She won more than 60 awards including the New Mexico Governors Award in 1981. It is New Mexico’s greatest recognition of artistic achievement.
