Lot 311 Original Gouache on Board by Raymond Naha

Signed lower right depicting Hopi Kachina Dancers. Image measures 12"x17 1/4" in double mat with a black textured frame. Raymond Naha left this world in 1974. He was from Polacca, which is at the foot of First Mesa, on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. He was best known for his wonderful paintings of Katsinim (Kachinas) in true settings as they appear in the villages of the Hopi. His grandson, also Raymond Naha, is a young man who is following his grandfather's footsteps and producing his own vision of the Katsinin that still appear to dance in the plazas.
