^Lot 145 Stevens Mdl 44 Target .32-40 SN: 8237

Vintage falling block single shot sporting rifle chambered in .32-40 Winchester, circa 1894-1933. Features a blued & case hardened finish, No. 2 weight 26" part octagon barrel, globe front sight with level, blank inserted into the rear sight dovetail, adjustable tang sight, smooth trigger, 's' shaped lever, smooth walnut schnabel forend and straight grip shoulder stock with crescent metal buttplate. Barrel retains approximately 70% bluing some edge & handling wear. The barrel also shows an outline of a dovetail just forward of the receiver that appears to have never been cut. The case hardened receiver shows strong colors on the left side and muted colors on the left side. Markings are crisp, action is sound, bore is fair and wood stocks are very good with scraped & dings. Condition is very good. ***C&R Firearm***
