Colt Single Action Army revolver, .44-40 caliber, 7 ½” barrel, factory engraved, nickel finish, authentic to the period raised carved pearl grips in form of rams head, S/N 262020. The engraving is deluxe and probably by Master Colt engraver Cuno Helfrict. Factory letter confirms features and factory engraving and lists stocks as pearl. Shipped to Simmons Hardware Co, C/O Shelton Payne Arms Co, Jan 19, 1905 with 1 gun in shipment(Probably a special order). Shelton Payne Arms co. was located in El Paso, Texas and received many arms for Pancho Villa and his lieutenants during the border war era. This Colt remains in very good condition with30%-50% plus original nickel within a natural patina.
