Beautiful high relief engraved Merkel O/U shotgun, 12 gauge, 30” ventilated rib Krupp-marked barrels, blued finish to barrels, raised carved deluxe finely grained wood stocks, auto ejectors, double triggers,horn trigger guard and pistol grip cap with engraved, checkered horn butt plate, S/N 13808, in overall fine condition displaying the majority of its blued finish to the barrel assembly, fine Germanic style floralengraving to the receiver with game scenes on both sides of the receiver, corresponding floral engraving to breech end of barrels and finely accomplished raised floral carvings to the wrist area and forend of the woodstocks; crisp actions, bores have an old coating of grease for storage that should clean to at least good. Appears to be of pre-war construction. An outstanding deluxe Merkel that would be very expensive toreplicate at today’s prices! (C&R/PPT). Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
