Koto period wakasashi (medium sword) in traditional mountngs and unsigned 18” blade of early style with a large tip. Fancy temper and fresh polish showing minor openings due to age in lamination (Mune-ware). Thescabbard shows a fancy mounting on the end which has been broken and been reduced in size. Good quality soft metal mountings and 19th century wrap to the grip. The scabbard is fair to good with minor repairs. A verygood blade of approximately 500 years or more. Est.: $800-$1600
