Oberndorf Mauser Model Gewehr 98 bolt action rifle, 8mm Mauser caliber, serial #4074B. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 24” barrel. The barrel features a post front and military tangent style rear sights. The barrel and receiver retain a significant amount of their military finish showing wear, use and light surface rust. The front ring is marked, “AMBERG 1913” with a crown. The smooth wood stock is in faircondition showing heavy use with an extra hole and 4” crack on the underside of the butt stock. The butt stock ends with a smooth steel butt plate. It appears that this rifle incorporates a WWI era action with a later WWII stock. The bore is fair, the action crisp and markings are sharp.
