Early Allen and Thurber Transitional Norwich/Worcester Pepperbox, NVSN, .31 cal., 4-3/4'' barrel, grey finish, smooth walnut grips, no sights, barrel flats marked ''Allen and Thurber,Worcester'' and ''Patented 1837 Cast Steel'', hammer marked ''Allen's Patent'' on right side. Condition is very good. Finish has turned a medium to dark grey, and barrels have the Norwich style barrel flats and sharply angled dog leg grip. Nipple shield appears hand engraved. Nickel oval inlet into grip panels is smooth with no cracks or losses. Est.: $450-$650. (Antique)
