Lot of Two (2) Custom Fixed Blade Knives, by Chuck Stapel: (1) 5'' trailing point blade, 9-3/8'' overall, brass guard, pommel and pommel nut; stag handle, with rosewood spacers. Left side of blade marked ''Stapel''. In unmarked brown leather sheath. Condition is excellent, appearing as new, showing no signs of use. Blade with fine micro-scratching; brass pieces with moderate even toning. Stag handle with some verdigris present in the crevices. (2) 3-3/8'' drop-point blade, 7-3/8'' overall, two-piece stag grip held in place by brass pins, with tang and grip separated by black Micarta liners; left side of blade marked ''Stapel / Glendale, Calif.''. In brown leather sheath marked on back ''96''. Condition is excellent, appearing as new, showing no signs of use. Blade with fine micro-scratching. Sheath with moderate scuffs and a few small dark patches. Est.: $150-$300/lot.
