U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle, by Springfield, #345726, .45-70 cal., 32'' barrel, blue finish, case hardened breechblock, 1885 cartouched walnut stock. Condition is fine to near excellent. Barrel assembly retains approx. 94% blue; case hardened breechblock is about the same, with some thinning and spotting. Lockplate has thinned to approx. 60%. Stock with only light marks from handling and no evidence of sanding. Action is good, bore is bright, ramrod is present. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)
