Composite Colt Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #SM469, .45 ACP cal., 5'' barrel, blue finish, WWII era Colt large ring brown plastic checkered grips, and one ''S'' marked contract magazine. Frame dates from 1937 and unnumbered pre-war 1911 military slide appears to be from the same time period. Bright barrel hood is marked on top ''Colt .45 Auto''. Factory checkered arched mainspring housing without lanyard loop; standard sights are retained. Condition is fine as partially refinished. Frame exhibits a very high-quality re-blue evidenced only by the fact that the verified proofmark ''VP'' has been blued over. Original finish to side is very good with 2''x1/2'' finish loss just forward the slide serrations on the right side. Grips are crisp showing little use. Action is smooth, triggerpull is match tuned as you would find on a Service Model Ace. 1950's era Colt barrel locks up tight with a bright bore. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R/PPT)
