Lot 1255 1840 heavy Cavalry saber marked “Ames, Chicopee, Mass.
1858” showing W.H. inspections with near excellent blade showing bright with minor pitting. Good patina on the scabbard and hilt. The grip and wrap is very good plus. A far better than average and used in early Civil War era before the 60s were in service. Est.: $700-$1400
