Lot 1090 .45-70 Springfield Model 1886 trapdoor rifle in near
fine condition, S/N 298518. 90%-95% original finish on the barrel and lock plate with 90%-95% vibrant and colorful case hardening on the breech block. Just beginning normal aging with some slight erosion and miniscule pin prick pitting. The stock is also near fine with minor dings, scratches, and slight imperfections. Good and sharp S.V.W. cartouche and 1886 date with “P” proof. Excellent bore and mechanics. Cleaning rod is included. A good 8.5 to 9 on a 1-10 scale. (Antique) Est.: $900-$1800
