Lot 255 Forged iron strong box or treasure chest circa
1500-1700 with complicated and well-made locking system showing quality and engraving. Coin or money box in interior operated by separate key. In good condition with normal aging and estimated weight 160lbs. Two keys are included. Measures 19” tall x 19 ½” wide. Probably Spanish from Colonial era but Germans from Nuremberg area also made such chests and were famous for their locks. Est.: $1000-$2000+++
