First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Documentation and Kopec Correspondence

The frame was manufactured in 1877. According to the included factory letter it was re-inspected at the Colt factory on 29 January 1902 for Government issue (Artillery style, mixed numbers), and two 1983 Kopec letters suggest it was a surplus civilian frame in Colt's warehouse "pushed off" on the government during a transition between inspectors, likely Nettleton and Wheeler.
