Harper’s Ferry percussion musket, approximately .69 caliber. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 42” round barrel. The barrel has gone to a light brown patina with “V”, “P” and eagle head proofs at the breech. The action ismarked, “HARPER’S FERRY 1826”. The smooth wood stock shows heavy use with mars and compressions. There is a loss of wood at the lock plate, several proof marks at the left rear of the action and a smooth metal butt plate. The riflefeatures sling swivels, ram rod and barrel bands. Est.: $600-$1,200. (Antique).
