Stevens New Model No. 40 Single Shot Pocket Rifle, #18939, .22 LR cal., 15'' blue barrel, nickel frame, triggerguard, and unnumbered shoulder stock; two-piece walnut grips. Sights have been replaced with dovetail scope mounts fitting into original slots, and topped with a 4-power William Malcolm pistol scope, marked ''Wm. Malcolm, Syracuse, NY''. Mfg'd 1896-1916. Condition is about fine. Barrel assembly retains approx. 96% thinning and lightly toning blue. Nickel components with some toning and mild losses at high edges. Grip panels are fine to near excellent, with some finish loss to left panel. Action, bore and optics are fine. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R/PPT)
