^Lot 12 Batchelor & Bros. mkd Kentucky Rifle

Batchelor & Brother marked Kentucky Type Percussion Long Rifle, .36 cal., 41'' octagonal barrel, tradelock and hammer with light engraving, set trigger, brass buttplate, triggerguard, ramrod ferrules and forend tip; with heat-striped walnut stock having two nickel silver oval escutcheons, one at wrist and one at cheek. Ca. 1835-1860. Condition is very good. Exterior surfaces of barrel has been cleaned at one point, and showing moderate corrosion near nipple bolster and lockplate. Stock with minor repair below hammer and small fissure at lockplate screw. Action needs adjustment, bore is good. Est.: $500-$750. (Antique)
