Massive Early Flintlock Wall Gun. 1 inch bore, 63” barrel. Paddle-style wood buttstock, anchoring bar protruding vertically out of the bottom of the barrel approximately 12” behind the muzzle. This great piece of defensive armament (ca 1675 to the early 1700s) is in overall good condition showing a grey patina to metal surfaces. There is a heart mark on the top flat of the barrel near the breech, but no visible other maker's marks on the barrel or lockplate. The action is very good. The wood stock shows some old worming holes and deterioration limited primarily to the buttstock area along with the expected mars and scratches from storage and handling of a weapon that has been around for about 300 + years. A great display piece for the gun room! Est:$2,500-5,000
