Smith & Wesson 2nd Model Schofield Revolver, #4022, .45 Schofield cal., 7'' barrel, blue finish, cartouched walnut grips. Delivered to the Government in 1877 and following their military use, many were sold surplus through various dealers. Both Frank and Jesse James, as well as Cole Younger, carried Schofields, as did several lawmen such as Bill Tilghman and Frank McLowery. Condition is good with overall brownish gray patination. Grips have smoothed somewhat and cartouches are only partly visible. Action needs light adjustment, bore is fair. Est.: $2,500-$4,000. (Antique)
