U.S. Model 1870 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle, NVSN, .50-70 cal., 32-1/2'' barrel, bright finish, walnut stock, with two steel barrel bands. Lockplate dated 1863; breechblock dated 1870. Condition is fine to near excellent showing just light carbon spotting. Breechblock has turned a silvery gray. Stock with minor nicks and light losses in ramrod channels. Crisp action, fine bore.
