U.S. Model 1868 Trapdoor Rifle, by Springfield, #234, .50-70 cal., 24'' barrel, bright finish, cartouched walnut stock, with ramrod. Breechblock dated 1870; sideplate dated 1863. Stock tapers nicely with no indication of shortening. Condition is about fine. Barrel and sideplate with moderate carbon spotting. Stock with light dings and impressions. Good action, very good bore.
