U.S. Model 1879 Trapdoor Rifle, by Springfield, #116205, .45-70 cal., 32-1/2'' barrel, originally with blue finish, walnut stock. Mfg'd 1879-1885. Condition is about very good. Blue on barrel has thinned to approx. 20%. Forward portion of breechblock shows light general wear. Stock is good with no visible markings. Good action and bore, with very light general frosting.
